The Client Brief
We were asked by an existing customer in Totnes to remove an Escallonia hedge and replace it with a new evergreen hedge. The existing hedge needed to be removed as it was an old hedge that was declining due to age. We have managed this customers hedges for the past 3-4 years.
The Challenges
One of the main challenges for the hedge removal was that the hedge had awkward access. In addition, once we had cut the hedge to ground level, the stumps were left, and they were very close to the existing retaining wall and patio.
In order to prevent damage to the surroundings we hired in a specialist hand held narrow stump grinder to remove the rest of the hedge stumps.
The Outcome
Our customer now has a ready to flourish Griselinia hedge which is a great asset to the property, providing an all year round privacy screen, a home for the birds and a lovely hedge to look at.
